Embrace the Storm

from $135.00

18×24 Mixed Media, Finished in Oil, on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

Painted out of a season that included a breast cancer scare — one of several hard stretches I’ve walked through. Each one has taught me the same thing: God holds me through it, which means I don’t have to run from what’s hard. I can face it instead.

Her hair is caught mid-motion, like she’s walking straight into whatever’s coming instead of away from it. I worked the words “She wasn’t scared of the fire. She was the fire.” into the background, because that’s the shift I was after — not surviving the hard season, but standing inside it and not being consumed.
