The Story Behind the Series

Unfiltered and Unapologetic was born in a season where I finally stopped dimming myself. A season where I chose my own voice over the expectations of others, where I let go of the pressure to soften, shrink, or explain who I am. These paintings came from the quiet but undeniable realization that I no longer needed permission to take up space — in my art, in my life, or in my truth.

This series is the visual language of that becoming.

Each portrait is a facet of the woman I’ve grown into: bold, grounded, intuitive, expressive, and unwilling to negotiate her worth. The women in these paintings carry the same energy I had to reclaim — the energy of standing fully in your light, of speaking without apology, of trusting your own clarity even when others don’t understand it.

They are not characters.
